Heavy rains lash "No Man's Land" Rohingya
Heavy rains on Wednesday night have caused flash flooding in the Taung Pyo “No Man’s Land” Rohingya refugee settlement. Tubewells and latrines are flooded and unusable. The refugees suspect that recent construction of barriers in the canal by Myanmar has contributed to the severity of the flooding. Dil Mohammed, a spokesman for the community, said “these structures were constructed with the deliberate aim of removing us from this area. What Myanmar did by building these contravenes international law”.
